Idea/Concept Code Lyoko: What I Never Knew

There is more to XANA than the Lyoko Warriors realize. The virus they have been fighting is only one half of the program. After seeing the horrors of humanity, the Al split into two, XANA & DUNE.

DUNE prefers to go by Dew and can make a form for herself onto Lyoko and create her own program. A child.

She was the one who saw the good in humanity. She saw that they were complicated and didn't always make sense, but she craved it and wanted to experience it.

However, when she learned of Hopper's plan to shut down the Super Calculator, she was able to create a separate program to bring her baby into the real world. She left them with a family that Hopper spoke fondly of before she was shut down with the rest of the machine.

Years later, the computer is switched back on, and Dew hides herself from XANA and the children, not wanting to seem like a threat to either. While shuffling through code, trying to find a way to assist the Warriors, she found an all too familiar code in the Kids' data. It was wrapped into the Cat-Boy's DNA.

It couldn't be, and yet it was. Her baby.

She's slow to reach out, give hints and clues, and build trust. Taking over smaller monsters to lead him to locations that can help, and so on.

Odd learned he was adopted the year he was sent to Kadic. He was torn; he loved his parents and sisters, they had raised him, they were all he knew, but he was curious about his biological parents. During his second year of fighting XANA, he starts to notice something weird. Monsters are acting off and not fighting but motioning to follow, and just when he's on Lyoko, something feels different. He hasn't brought it up with anyone because no one else has noticed. Maybe it was just him, especially when he started to hear a woman's voice when he was alone.

Wanting to know, he sneaks out one night and goes to Lyoko. He follows one of the strange Kankerlots to a cave in the Mountain Sector and meets a woman there. Who introduces herself as Dew, a friend.

After some months of Odd sneaking off, XANA notices and is able to kidnap him, making Dew come out of hiding and the Warriors panic. She attempts to help despite their refusal, and XANA has made copies of Odd's code, two of them to fight the warriors while Odd is being used as a battery.

Can they save him before it's too late?

The benevolent AI. The main support and the AU's Aelita replacement.

When it reawakens and sees Jeremie, its first Instinct was to try getting Jeremie out as soon as it possibly can. But Aelita had noticed him, moreover, Jeremie didn't shut the Supercomputer back down on his way out.

Desperate, XANA's only option is to bond with Jeremie. It attached itself to Jeremie, making them connected.

Whilst turning the Supercomputer down kills Jeremie, the Blonde nerd can be killed in a normal way. If it does happen, XANA will die alongside him

XANA, at the start of the story, acts like your typical AI. it is kind, and in some level, empathetic, but it has base level understanding in humanity. It is the personification of true good guy. It stands for what it feels right for it and doesn't understand the meaning of 'Just having fun'

so i’ve been watching code lyoko with my sibling (@toonypow) and their friends, and the auto caption feature on youtube keeps calling XANA “santa” and its fucking hilarious every time.

also more codelyokoposting but I really really dig XANA as a villain. It's not a person with a complex background that led them down the path of evil, it's not a morally grey character you sympathize with but condemn. It's a powerful AI capable of controlling almost anything in the real world. It doesn't have a face or a body, we only know it for its symbol and for the monsters it controls in the virtual world. It's willing not just to kill people through various methods (poisoning, drowning, car crash, fucking space lasers too?) but also Earth as a whole (it tried to blow up a NUCLEAR PLANT and crash two trains with toxic chemicals in them). And we don't even know why it does this, at least not for now. It may not even have a particular reason, just some sort of virus or malware in the form of an AI that seeks nothing but destruction without any goals in mind. This "pure evil" characteristic doesn't come off as childish, like in some children cartoons, it's just kind of scary to think that such an incomprehensible and destructive force exists, almost feels like a natural disaster

Actually Scary Monsters

Something I appreciate about Code Lyoko is that the monsters never become a joke to the characters.

Too often shows-especially ones with power creeping-will turn initial/early enemies into jokes or cannon fodder. There's a gimmick that makes them obsolete after a few episodes, next season there might be a a hundred of them in the back for spectacle but none of the characters care.

Code Lyoko never forgets the threat any of the monsters pose. The characters get better at dealing with them, especially the ones they have more experience with, but the danger a kankerlot poses is equal to that of a tank in the right setting.

Even when new monsters are introduced its not to overshadow the old ones, but as a sign of X.A.N.A. gaining strength or adapting to a new environment.

It also makes it seem like X.A.N.A. has a proper military and isn't just tossing minions at the heroes. Tanks are tanks, mantas/hornets are air support, kankerlots are foot soldiers, krabs are riot troopers, tarantulas are heavy artillery, etc.

Code Lyoko Fantasy AU: XANA

A being of pure dark magic.

He doesn’t know how he was made, and he doesn’t know what his purpose is. When he saw how the world was, wars were fought over petty social human constructs—religion, money, status—it was all so…pointless.

If everything were under his rule, then it would make sense, and there would no longer be war; everything would be unified under him. He was annoyed when they fought back, so he gave them a solution, and since they would not do so willingly, he would take it by force.

With the monsters he can make and the magic he wields, he will succeed, no matter who tries to stand in his way.

He will make a perfect world.
